Ohio mobile home fire kills 6, including kids, while mom is at work

USPA News - A fire ripped through a mobile home in the U.S. state of Ohio on early Sunday, killing a man and five children ages 6 and under as the children`s mother was working an early morning shift at a nearby fast-food restaurant, local authorities said. The cause was not immediately known.

The fire was reported at 7:46 a.m. local time on Sunday when a citizen reported a fire at a trailer on the Highland Park Estates Mobile Home Park in Tiffin, a city in Seneca County, which is approximately 79 miles (127 kilometers) north of Columbus. The first officer arrived at the scene within two minutes, followed by Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) after another two minutes. "Tiffin Fire and Bascom Fire worked together and were able to pull out an adult male and five small children who were transported to Tiffin Mercy Hospital and worked on there. Life Flight was called in and responded to Tiffin Mercy Hospital," said Tiffin Police Chief Fredrick Stevens. "Unfortunately, all six were eventually pronounced deceased at the hospital." The adult victim was identified as 25-year-old Timothy Fresch while the children were identified as 1-year-old Domanic Fresch, 4-year-old Trinitie Huey, 3-year-old Sunshine Huey, 5-year-old Stormie Huey, and 6-year-old Tiara Angel. Fresch was the father of Domanic and the boyfriend of 30-year-old Anna Angel, who was the mother of all five children. Angel was working an early morning shift at a nearby Burger King when the fire broke out and raced home on her bike after receiving a call about a fire at her mobile home. Her boyfriend and children had already been taken from the home when she arrived at the scene and she was brought to Tiffin Mercy Hospital where she identified the bodies of her children. The cause of Sunday`s fire was not immediately known, but Stevens said Tiffin Fire would work with a team from the State Fire Marshal`s Office to investigate the exact circumstances. "The City of Tiffin Police & Fire hearts go out to the children and and adult male that lost their lives in this tragic incident and we mourn with the families," he said. The city government said it will hold a candlelight vigil on Friday evening to remember the victims of the fire.
